I guess the best you can do
is preorder your Nvidia card from somebody like EVGA, who has adopted the anti-scalper strategy of putting you in a queue and notifying you when they have enough cards for you to place your order. You have (I think) eight hours to act. After that, your card goes back in the pool for someone else.
Not a great state of affairs, but in such stupid times, this beats the pants off switching auto-notify to Add to Cart, only to have your stock eaten by bots in less than a second.
And, you know, Nvidia can only make cards so fast, which means it could be weeks or months before you get invited to buy one. Your consolation would be that EVGA is a major partner, so you will get your card.
Did you know there's a concrete shortage? Craziness.
