My 3DS is a New 3DS non-XL.
As for soldering, I'm not gonna bother; the few things I've managed to solder in my life, I've only fixed one of them. The others either remained broken or were broken worse after I got done with them.
Anyway, I'm not in a big hurry to fix it and can wait on the parts to arrive. I'm really only playing Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and the Pheonix Wright trilogy right now and neither use the B button extensively.
