Is there really much benefit if you're not running higher than 1080p with the new cards? I feel like I'm still in the stone age with my 1080p monitor and 970 GTX, but I also don't feel any great need to upgrade, as everything runs just fine on my PC, especially after upgrading to a Ryzen back in December. I often need to drop shadows back to Medium, but it doesn't seem to be any big graphical hit.
With all that anyway, I'm usually just playing games on my Thinkpad with integrated graphics. The thing cost me $400 three years ago and it has become my primary gaming computer since then.
