Here's the thing. None of this scalper/bitcoin/bot stuff would be so catastrophic if retailers would step up and limit purchases to one per customer. They do it all the time with other items. They have to know that the RTX 3xxx and AMD 6800 cards are going to sell out anyway. It would be no great matter for them to prevent instant buyouts by single parties.
Scalpers and bitcoin scum are going to do what they do. The blame for consistent unavailability lies with retailers. They may have the right to enable instant buyouts, but it's going to net them a lot of bad will when people settle down long enough to figure this out. Companies like EVGA will be remembered for trying to do things right.
