The general rule of thumb is simply to mount the radiator higher than the pump with the radiator positioned in a way that the plugs are at the bottom of the block, so any bits of air present will get trapped at the top instead of being fed back into the loop. This is true for any type of liquid cooler, even the AIO ones that come prefilled. Failing to do so can result in lowered cooling performance, a noisier than usual pump, shortened pump life longevity, and acute diarrhea.
Now you may be asking: What if my case won't allow me to mount the radiator at the top, and the only position it will fit in is at the bottom? Well, then you simply take your computer case, pick it up, flip it over and put it back down, ya dummy. This may seem like a drastic solution, but it's common knowledge that doing this will also make your computer faster by making the ones and zeroes fall down from your GPU to your CPU faster as they are now being assisted by gravity.
