Subject: 3DS is still busted

I received all the orders I put in (ABYX Mobo, ABXY Mobo ribbon cable, ABXY silicone pads (this one was a just in case) and the ABYX mobo was DOA, the ribbon cable was wrong (was sent a DPAD button/ribbon cable) and I haven't bothered to install the silicone yet.

So, yup, B-button is still finicky. At least the sellers are sending me new parts, no charge and don't even need to bother sending back the other stuff.

Now, for whatever reason, I've ordered some old Gameboys. I really have pretty much zero use for them, since I can emulate Gameboy pretty perfectly on the 3DS, my PSP Go and my Vita, but for whatever bizarre reason, I've been lusting after a Gameboy Pocket for several years now. So, I finally got a weird bug up my ass this week and picked up a Pocket and a Color for $40 and $50 respectively. Goals are to install new IPS screens in them and for the Color, also swap it to a machined aluminum shell. I've also picked-up an Everdrive for them, so I can run everything I want without having to purchase a bunch of (probably fake) games.

I really have no fucking idea why I've been lusting after a Gameboy for awhile now and I suspect it's going to be the case that I play it for a few days and then set it aside forever. At least, between installing an IPS screen and having an Everdrive, it should retain whatever money I'm putting into it. And, it should also be a fun, short project to do the modifications.
