RE: 3DS is still busted
Hard disagree on the DMG Gameboy. It's fine and all, but I had one when I was a kid (lost it somehow. Maybe it got stolen?) and it was great for what it was at the time, but the new IPS screens in these things look fantastic, plus they have basic shit like a backlight to actually make them usable. The screen I'll be putting in the pocket has a neat grid effect to make it look similar. Yeah, it's not exactly as it was and I do agree there's some charm to that original dot matrix screen, but something about bringing the Gameboy into 2020 with updated parts is very appealing to me.

As for the 3DS, mine is already a New 3DS, but it's the "OG" or normal ass sized one or whatever you want to call it. I had an XL for years and grew to dislike it due to the sheer immensity of it; it does not fit comfortably in my pocket and I'm not a fan of the weight. If this "OG" one fails on me for good, I'll definitely pick up an XL (probably one of those purple galaxy ones), just because I love the 3DS as a system, but I won't be happy about having the fat ass one.
We'll see what happens when the new parts come; really hoping to repair it. It's still usable for a great many games, Monster Hunter works great, since B use is minimal, Ocarina of Time is similar. About the only thing I've found I can't play is any Mario game, since B see's a lot of use for jumping and not having your jumps register in a platforming game is fucking infuriating.
