That's a fantastic analogy. Do you think his stuff is worth reading? I suppose I haven't bothered, because while I like gaming, I'm just not that interested in the tertiary stuff that surrounds it. There's so much more important shit I want to think about.
I've had to stop reading Jalopnik for similar reasons. The site hires writers that either don't own cars or are the most white bread Zoomers living in New York. One particular guy on there writes all kind of whiny bullshit on there, meanwhile is too lazy to change a headlamp in his car, so drives around with his high beams on instead, like a fucking jackass. Errybody simping for woke points.
Which isn't to say I don't believe in a lot of the causes, but that shit is so tiresome.
