Okay, I take the part back about offensive magic. I meant to say that nature mage offensive magic does negligible damage, BUT it's the only way to get anywhere leveling their slow asses. They should be casting something every second -- offensive, magic armor, healing, whatever. Even then, they take forever to level to the point where they can use the better spells. This is why finding the mage in the ice cave is essential. Also, finding any new mage is like reaching a town -- a milestone. The new ones you come across are the only ones properly leveled. This is another reason to have at least two.
