yeah the slapstick antics and simplicity of the first game were perfect.
it tied into the actual physical styling of the game too. you know, quaint, simple medieval things...
im sure the second game is better in most ways,
but unfortunately they never carried over that charm, that excellence of design.
the original had created their own fonts, and their UI along with this font was totally custom and looked good. Plus ontop of the new font, the dialog was just so period correct yet simple,
everything came together so well on every level, including the gameplay.
such an underrated game. easily the best PC game of all time, which makes it defacto best video game of all time
