I don't know. Gene Autrey and William Boyd were big in the 1930s and '40s. Boyd became huge on TV in the early '50s. Rogers was equally popular about mid-decade. You also had Duncan Renaldo as the Cisco Kid and Clayton Moore as the Lone Ranger. Both had massive audiences. Hard to say. Kids idolized all of them.
