Subject: RE: I did a thing

i picked up a modern used camry with 50k for 0$ + CA registration rape

because... connections an shit. paid for title in hand. actual ownership.

toyota is funny, they make one hell of a vehicle, everything is tight as a button, the engineering gives off this early 2000s porche vibe. like this would have been considered top end in those years but are now standard consumer grade today,
but the funny thing is toyota nickles and dimes you on everything else. small things people typically have to pay someone to do. toyota has also been getting really silly on their current camry transmissions, but the year i have is not effected

but its a flipped game with toyota,
on one hand, they bungle a major thing such as the camry, but on the otherhand, the make the best CVT on the market. they all come from JATCO but for some reason toyota got special design points or something. far superior than anything else, and since i would never in a million years own a japanese car for anything even remotely considered as performance, that leaves everything to fuel economy. and a CVT is major in gas savings, which is why toyota is probably your best choice all around.

hondas are good too, their CVTs are also probably good, but hondas have their own silly things going on. i havent owned one since the 90s so i dont keep up with them as much. but in any case, a honda CVT will probably not be complete shit as nissan. the funny thing is, nissan CVTs are the same jatco ones, but nissan grossly overloads them on vehicles beyond the weight tolerance. even the juke was too heavy

asside from the transmission, what it all comes down to are components which are difficult to replace, and if were to choose between honda and toyota, even considering my honda research has been lacking, i would still go with toyota
