I'll take a Koenigsegg Regera because that's a hybrid because, as I said, I'm eco conscious.
I have no idea how the gears a manufactured, and I would think it's hardly a concern especially since they don't take the kind of stresses you'd see in an automatic, or especially in a manual. However, the price of the car isn't so low to where every corner needs to be cut. For instance, the starting price is roughly the same as a Prius. What actually came as a surprise is that the engine uses a forged crankshaft... On a 1.5L ~100HP 4cyl. They also use an uncommon (and more expensive) cylinder wall finishing technique. So they didn't exactly cheap out.
