Subject: critics dont get it

the imdb ratings for all the classic films from 1930s to the 50s are all wrong.
they review certain aspects of a film but completely ignore the most important ones. its completely stupid how these people weigh their opinions. and how ignorant they are to their own stupidity.

take the 1931 film 'taxi' for example
its rated less than 7
but the movies charm is through the roof.
yes its a low brow film, i get that, i understand their rating, i understand the presentation of the film and its intent for the audience. its not a masterful work of art or whatever these critics expect,
but the age of the film is pushing 100 years now, this thing is like a time machine, its complete different from anything today.
the entire film has a certain charm to it. Leila Bennett nails her role perfectly and it ties in with everyone else so well. i cant believe these assholes would rat this below 7

of course there are plenty of older films which genuinely deserve a low rating, but these films are very easy to group together and all exabit a similar style of production. basically films for the dumb audience of those days, and its obvious that people were especially simple back then. but taxi is apart from those films. easily. its certainly not one of those common lowest denominator films. it has genuine and timeless character and charm god dammit what the fuck is imdb smoking
