Subject: Ice Cube film glossary

I love Ice Cube movies. The Friday and Barber Shop series are, as everyone knows, American film classics rivaling the likes of The General, It's a Gift, and Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House.

For a full appreciation of Ice Cube's writing, I felt that a glossary should be started in order to clarify some potentially confusing language. I will begin with three words that are essential for a complete understanding of the Cube ouvre.

--------------------

Yo and bagga

bagga is exclusively used as an equivalent of "bag of"

yo is contextual -- can be used as an affirmative noun equivalent to "yes" or as a functional part of a greeting meaning, roughly, "hello"

Examples:

noun: "Yo, I'm goin' to the Allsup's for a bagga ice."

greeting: "Yo, dog, is that bagga ice from the Allsup's?"

-- can also be used as a second-person possessive adjective, equivalent to "your"

Example:

"Take yo car to the Allsup's and get me a bagga ice."

--------------------

ass

contextual: can be used as a noun to indicate a person's buttocks

Examples:

"She had a ass like a bagga ice."

"Get yo sorry ass down to the Allsup's and get me a bagga ice."

-- can also be used as an auxiliary adjective, generally to emphasize meaning

Examples:

"He got me a big-ass bagga ice down at the Allsup's."

"Yo, take yo broken-ass car to the Allsup's and get me a bagga ice."

--------------------

I hope that this preliminary attempt has heightened everyone's enjoyment of Ice Cube's major works. As time allows, more terms may be treated.
