ok
robert mitchum confuses the hell out of me
im not a fan of his face and the way he conducts himself. his voice is fine, i just dont like the way he moves.
but he has the best roles in all the movies ive yet to see him in.
yes hollywood has done a great job of taking something i dont like and making use of it.
his movies are damn good on so many levels. i cant sit here and explain what i like about them either.
they fit so well in viewing them today. i like seeing the historic type cineametics thing. his movies are especially good at presenting themselves specifically as a classic movie, as if "classic movie" was its own genera along side romance and westers, and also its as if the produces and everyone else knew they were making their own genera of classic film, 60 years before they were classic and were all new
so much great dialog and scenes coming together. its wonderful how he hits women and drives their cars... there is just so much here
