string thing...
one thing that ive noticed, is the complete absence of american religious culture from all these movies ive been watching.
its not exactly and accurate portrayal of common people and common things as movies tend to portray.
of course there are few spiritual moments here and there across various films, but they hardly exist or seemingly are purposely have little focus on them. its not exactly right, or even remotely close.
you would never be able to tell that america used to be very largely religious from watching any of these films, its definitely odd. you have to pretend that you know nothing of history and go into all of these films as sort of an outsider.
religion has always been hugely popular, even up until the 80s or 90s.
major part of many american lives, vast number of them.
in fact for the longest time it was that you could consider religion and decency (decent or responsible, dignified people) went hand and hand. religion was pretty much the one thing that defined you as decent person.
again, impossible to determine this from any of these films, it definitely feels as if this has been purposely left out.
of course i can speculate as to why this is, and i tend to believe i have a good understanding why, but there is also something about it that i do not like.
yes its very easy for me to blame the jews or to dislike their direct involvement in this. but of course im able to look beyond this reasoning...
what do you think of this?
