Good points, but in Doom Eternal (and 2016 really) the combat speed and impact are so artfully handled that want to keep the difficulty as high as you can bear it. The Doom enemies don't cheat; they just have well-tuned AI, which makes a lot of difference. I would play on Nightmare if I could move more than ten feet without dying.
