Now I will say that I'm not exactly put off by all the so-called lore. On its own, it's sort of interesting. The problem, for me, is that it doesn't merge very believably with anything in the Doom franchise. The Doom guy was just a marine who happened not to get zombified with the rest of his unit. All the sentinel and makyr hoopla could have been erased and no one would have missed it.
