Warlock, by the way, is my favorite Henry Fonda movie.

Strange thing about Fonda. I don't like him in young roles (Jezebel, Jesse James, Young Mr. Lincoln, The Lady Eve, etc.). He never seemed to be cast right. Later, he seemed more comfortable as your basic middle-aged man of responsibility (12 Angry Men, Advise & Consent). But sometimes he would go a little off-track and play somebody like Bob Larkin in Firecreek, and then he would really shine.

The best of these off-track roles was Clay Blaisedell in Warlock. He's the best gunfighter character I've ever seen -- totally menacing without trying to be menacing, totally convincing as a person who would kill you.

People should see this movie.
