No idea about the eBay weirdness. Who can explain the vagaries of eBay?
Maybe ASIC systems have the same chip issues as everyone else. According to the Jay video (grain of salt there), it might be hard for them to ramp up and overtake vidya cards, which appear to be more currency-agnostic than ASIC. I have no understanding of cryptomining. The whole thing seems idiotic to me. It's money based on nothing but agreement, like bottle caps in Fallout, except you can actually see bottle caps.
