I suppose all currency is arbitrary. Cash is just promissory paper backed by a common agreement about its value. It shouldn't seem strange to me that certain arrangements of 1's and 0's have a value of $70,000. I would have no qualms about the value of a $70,000 cashiers check, which is just paper and ink. Bartering is the best way to manage goods and services. Money is more efficient, but it obscures a multitude of inconsistencies and abuses, just like the Xbox.
