Subject: RE: contending with history

I know this is at least 46% troll, but Mayan architecture looks nothing like Greco-Roman. Also, ancient Mediterranean cultures weren't very interested in extended exploration. For one thing, they were superstitious about going beyond the Strait of Gibraltar. For another, they didn't have a need to travel that far. Everything that preoccupied them was in the Mediterranean area. Finally, they didn't have the navigational instruments for a trip like that. That's why Portuguese navigators were so special in the Renaissance.

Yes, yes, Vikings came to America because they had a sun compass, blah blah. But the Vikings were brigand trash usually on one-way trips, so they don't count.

I'm not saying Greeks or Chinese or whoever didn't come to the Americas. I am saying that if they did, it was probably by accident and they probably drowned or got sacrificed before they could teach classes in architecture.

Anyway, everyone knows that the Mayans learned everything from ancient aliens who had been to the future so they could reverse engineer Hitler's flying saucers.
