Not that I recall. Could you even jump in the original? I don't remember. I know I could jump a little when I used the gzdoom port, but it made no real difference. 2016 gives you boots in-game that let you double jump. It also has a rune that lets you maneuver a little better while in the air. Eternal has the same rune, but you get double jump right away. Eternal adds the dash ability. Not that you would need any of this if they hadn't done the platforming silliness.
