RE: I suppose I should finish DOOM Eternal
Crafting doesn't need fixing. FO4 is designed so that crafting works in sync with perks. This means that you should specialize and get granular with it. Early on, you should decide what you're going to be and get every perk maxed for that style. For example, I knew that I would be a stealth/rifle/light armor type. With the right perks, crafting all by itself for that character type is overpowered. Then you add the insane number of Agility- and Perception-based perks for rifle damage, stealth (which sends damage through the roof), crit management (which sends damage to the moon), and you will one-shot pretty much everything with the right weapons.
This means you need to kill everything you can in order to get two-shot weapons. These don't really double your perked-out damage, just the weapon's base, but it still is the best way to go. A fully modded two-shot automatic assault rifle will shred anything in the game on Very Hard skill. If you find the mystery of mysteries -- the unicorn weapon -- the two-shot gauss rifle, then it's game over for everything.
If you level up enough, you no longer need power armor or even combat armor. I wear rags with ballistic weave, and because I have as much health as a mirelurk queen, I am a destroyer of worlds.
Pretty good for an ex-lawyer/housewife mom, is it not so?
