newish car update yay
Because you're all just dying to know about my recent purchase of:
It ended up getting delivered to my parents house this past monday. But between work, and shitty weather, I just today finally got to dig in a bit. I have most of the parts that I need now so I can get actually accomplish some shit (needed bumper support, bumper cover, radiator, condenser, fans, a few extras). I put the radiator and fans in, but unfortunately it won't be completely proper until I have the condenser too. Put coolant in, and checked the oil (clean), looked around for any stray vacuum lines before finally giving it it's first official start. Cranked the key, and fired it right up! Everything was looking, and sounding good. With the hood open, you can carry a low volume conversation with someone right in front of it. But the best part is how amazingly smooth that engine is!! It's not even an engine you typically find in any vehicle - it's a wankel rotary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wankel_engine). Where as a typical engine has 40 or more moving parts, a 2-rotor wankel only has 3! It's my first experience with one (though I've had HUGE interests for many years), and so far I'm extremely impressed. Of course, I have yet to drive it. Therefore, everything so far has been great! Not everything is in pristine condition, but it's about 6 years old with 85k miles, plus I'm only paid about half of what they typically go for. I'm psyched.
