Subject: strange

i found a sprout growing out of my sink,
its most likely a weed seed which fell and got caught just an inch below the drain stopper.
the thing is, it wasnt there the day before, and by the time i noticed it the next day, it was more than an inch long and just shooting out high, which in itself is strange, i dont think that is typical behavior for marijuana.

so anyway, i was intrigued, this was the first time a plant was growing out of my sink. the first thing i did was gently tug to feel how attached or rooted it was. it was stuck solid. the drain stopper for my sink is like a plastic tent stake, so there are surfaces and crevices for which the roots to hold, plus other things which could act for it to nest, like a stuck toothpaste cap, some hair, etc.
so i started to tug the sprout out, firm but not enough to break it. the roots themselves develop a sort of glue (actually its something else) which sticks to things. i tugged just right to break its natural bond, it was not holding onto anything at all and was rooted on a normal flat surface somewhere down there.
i examined everything carefully. the sprout was around 3 inches total length, which struck me as odd, because it was immediately obvious that not much time had passed for it to grow like that. i examined more. i was marveling at how determined it was to grow.. out of my sink. the light in the bathroom, which i do leave on almost 24hrs a day, is only a recessed led type light, i guess it was enough.
ive never sprouted a seed before and never been that close to something exactly like this before.
this plant i was holding was like actual life. its grip to the drain surface was like its mortal connection and it was in a phase where it was really shooting to thrive. the thing was still alive when i pulled it and spent a good time looking at it. but after about only 5 minutes of laying it down and returning later, i was able to see how much it changed. it was now dead.
it was more droopy or withered, im actually not sure how to exactly describe it. the details are fine, but are noticeable enough.
the whole thing felt like i was dealing with a living creature.
like it was holding onto the drain, then when i pulled it, it just shut everything down, like it actually died.
very strange early moment of sprouting and death. its like probably a brief moment when the creature which you call "plants" is more like an animal and less like a plant for that brief moment.
i know thats preposterous but honestly thats what the entire situation felt like
