You could probably blame all the shortcomings of Blood 2 on the planetquake community, which has always been cancerous.
Before Blood 2 released, the majority of posts on this forum were "Blood vs. Quake" threads. On dialup, Quake MP was horrible, and it's SP was bland. The only thing it really had going for it was all the mods, which was a brand new concept at the time. All that modding talk was basically the precursor of whatever posts Necro makes about Fallout 4. For some reason, a lot of that leaked into the Blood 2 dev which made it the giant shit pile it became.
