SHOGO had boring maps and a cringey story, but at least had decent weapons and a fairly unique style, fwiw. It was nothing special, but at least it wasn't a complete clusterfuck.
Can't really compare NOLF to those other games since, despite it only being 2 years newer, was more of a next gen FPS, which made vast improvements over previous gen games. I'd much rather play it than HL, even though it's somewhat of an unfair comparison.
