The OP is potentially confusing, so here is the timeline I was thinking about:
Note: Elder Scrolls "eras" are periods of 1000 years.
2E (second era) 582: Red Mountain has its second eruption, which is not nearly as cataclysmic as the bad one in 1E 688.
2E 583: events in ESO Morrowind begin.
3E 427: events in ES3 Morrowind begin.
Value added info:
4E 5: Red Mountain erupts again, this time making Vvardenfell uninhabitable. Hence the Dunmers' references to their exodus and difficulties in ES5 Skyrim, which takes place in 4E 201.
