Nah, Cool Hand Luke is one of those latter '60s pretentious new wave things with the incorrigible young man rebelling against "the boss" blah blah blah ad infinitum. Very tiring. Could be I don't like it because I hate swampy prison movies. I can't stand Papillon, for example.
If you want a much more interesting and skillfully executed version of Cool Hand Luke, see One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. That is a masterpiece.
