of course its not long before her mother ruins things, stanwyck is essentially playing a whore you know. though her role is still very respectable.
its kind of admirable how she plays an idiot, and by that i mean its silly. the whole mindset of it all. the film is mocking a certain type of woman, and i know that woman very well, its a common type even for those days. its like she is parenting for a specific woman and shes doing it through her own superiority but not in a harsh way. as a man, i find it very humorous and enjoyable to watch
