RE: days of heaven 1978
ahaha, dont remind me of carlitos way. do you know how funny that is?
whew.
anyway, yeah, pacino was not really bad at all in this. watched a little more of it. but that table scene was pretty bad though.
this film seems more about giving lemmon a proper roll, which he never really gets.
hes got highly unique qualities, you can hear them creep out in his voice at times. very unique conjured tone of voice and character, it really is top material. hes just never given a chance to use any of it, until this film - kind of. idk what kind of tossed salad thing was going on at the time with production. but old lemmon is also a bit different than young lemmon, which i also noticed. aged well as a performer. this person was a very lively and dynamic human, not much recognition was given to him. he definitely was the real deal.
anyway, there is one scene in particular where lemmon was able to convince me. where he was able to shine, and the scene itself started with something misleading in regards to his performance. kind of difficult to describe, but lemmon definitely played it through. totally underrated actor. easily one of the best of all. but not many opportunities to show
