More lack of clarity:
By "the only way to get the bomb guys to pass into the rift," I mean it's the only way to make them prioritize getting to the rift rather than trying to blow up the player.
Also, if you hate this plan, no worries. I will submit myself to whatever alternative or adjustment you come up with, even though this is the most flawless plan of all time and couldn't possibly be rejected or changed in any way.
