Subject: RE: mn - I have to ask

I didn't mean to imply that Eiamudomchai thought of the machine before you did. For all I know, you invented it. Anyway, I never tire of watching the smaller enemies get food processed.

As a follow-up to my remark about Robot putting so much effort into sabotaging the player:

I have made a study of every map in the base game (I detest the DLC maps so much that I refuse to play them), and I have discovered that the geometry is a marvel of developer hostility. You would think, for example, that you could find plenty of opposing surfaces for the saw blades or plenty of ceiling space for the lasers or gravity pillars. Not so. There is no crowd control method Robot hasn't anticipated and spoiled.

The Basement is a masterpiece of player deprivation. You might think that you could use the Arcane Dragon to manage earth elementals, but there is not a single useful place to put it. The north entrance is meticulously designed so that you have no practical defense against sappers. Every part of that map is built to deny the weakest form of automation.

But their crowning achievement -- the winner of the blue ribbon for player helplessness -- is Sludge Shelves. The whole thing is full of useless surfaces. The grills and pipes are not there for atmosphere. They exist to inhibit trap placement, and they are at every potentially useful junction and every possible disaster reduction nexus. The spite is so complete and so granular that I am simply in awe every time I look at it.

And for some reason, I'm still playing it. There's probably a description in the DSM-5 for whatever disorder I have.
