blast of silence 1966
you know im just going to skip my typical lauding followed by its superficial excusable shortcomings and just say this:
blast of silence makes me feel like im watching a checkered cab from manhatten from back in day.
checker was an actual car manufacturing company they design and build them from the ground up.
the movie feels like im watching one of those taxi cabs.
filled with soul
that one checker model with its classic stylings they made them for at least 30 years if not more.
very basic, almost industrial look, but classic asthetic, defining generations.
the film defines nothing, but its so damn new york its not even funny
good film, not great but still highly enjoyable.
its definitely a neo noire. that designation nails it. but its not one of those throwbacks. its not trying to be something other films used to be.
its definitely good
the narration is superb
solid 8/10 film
