Kerr did play an ancient provincial Lydian slave in Quo Vadis. She was also Portia in the Mankiewicz version of Julius Caesar. In both cases, she was believably cast as a person of the approximate race and age. In 1960, she would have been a stretch as a Jewish slave in her twenties. I guess she could have done it. No one seems bothered by Haya Harareet's accent, so I don't know. Doesn't matter. Haya was good as Esther. I wouldn't change her.
