i dont think the system would be able to handing anything higher if it wasnt
come to think of it, im not sure if the CPU the tv uses for all its display processing (which there is an impressive amount of) is actually running the android OS, or if its a separate processor which handles android.
but anyway, the thing looks nice, the "X1" sony cpu is an actual chip which is industry-unique. meaning someone actually worked on it, and its not like the generic shit most other manufactures use.
im only running 8bit full uncompressed RGB signal at 4k 60hz but it looks damn nice and the post processing image filter shits are cool.
the response time for everything is super low, so is the input lag, no need to use any of the motion interpolation settings, which are all configurable and not forced automatic. and there is no PWM dimming for any of the brightness settings except at 0 brightness but even at 0 it cycles high in the 240 or 340 range which is good
all of these features are like custom cpu kind of stuff here.
well at least the firmware is custom.
its a great set, the price is what made it a must buy for me, alongside the manufacturers warranty option which i didnt even know about until registering the product. sony 4 year full coverage including accidental damage just shy of 180$
overall good unit and great pricing
