gaynor basically only has one film, and alongside her pleasurable acting, the film itself is pretty decent. starts a little mediocre but it manages to pick up. very interesting film, historically. its brimming with history'ness
she actually has two noteworthy films with sound, both done in the 30s,
then disappeared for two decades before doing cameos in the 50s.
first actress to win the academy award in the 30s.
she started with mostly silent era stuff, then became hugely popular during the talkies. a lot was going on in reguards to hollywood and the industry itself during her time. you can sort of see it moving in her main film "a star is born"
