RE: The new Dune
I should read the book. In the first movie, they make a lot more of the spice and navigators. In the new one, they do a good job of making you understand the spice and what it does, but the old one made you feel how it permeated everything -- it was in the air, in characters' clothes, everywhere. Also, dream and reality were less demarcated, which makes me wonder how the book handles all this.
