Good point. Maybe I should cash out my 401k and my bank account and invest it all in GPUs and meme stocks to prevent it from getting wiped out from inflation.
As for intel and their Arc GPUs, all I'll say is that there are so few examples of their products throughout their history that could have been considered a value proposition. They will never sell a product at 3/4 the price of something comparable, never mind 1/4. Also, they hire an AMD graphics exec and can now magically make a GPU architecture that's significantly better than the competition in terms of performance per watt? Doubt it. But I really do hope so, because that would attract all the miners, and just maybe free up the nvidia and AMD cards a little for the people who actually use them for graphics. In reality, I think that, as usual, they're mainly interested in serving OEMs (who probably will see some cost savings), while the DIY/aftermarket will pay intel prices for a product that has worse performance than its competitors.
