dead reckoning, 1947
its not a heavy hitter noire, its more of like a refined story piece, or something, whatever i can call it. but its rather good.
the dialog is classic bogart wit, though its on the cleaner, sterile side, but i enjoyed it rather greatly. theres so much character in everything. the characters, the spoken dialog, the setting- everything.
the part where bogart is having the morgue-slabs slid open to him, it deserves its own youtube clip. the scene its not meant to be comedic, but its completely hilarious.
