It's always struck me as an authentic cattle drive western. Also, performances are good all around. Walter Brennan is dependably great. John Ireland and Joanne Dru are excellent. The only detraction is Noah Beery, Jr., who somehow managed to be cast in everything and never stopped getting on my nerves, sort of like Arthur O'Connell.
