Blood 2 was a massive flop in that it removed the two things that made the original great; the setting and Caleb.
Somehow they thought the fans would prefer 4 playable characters in a Matrix-esque cityscape. Oh, and the fact that the engine was brand new and a complete broken mess. It was still "playable" but basically made you yearn for the original. And as already stated, the multiplayer was more or less non-functional.
