What I like about FM (And all the other Simulator type games like theHunter and SnowRunner, really) is that it doesn't try to deceive you, it does exactly what it says on the tin and nothing more. I just wish they'd take it easy on the DLC gouging that all these styles of game tend to gravitate towards.
I don't know about 22 as I haven't tried it yet, but in 19 a dinky ol' Xbox 360 wired pad was more than enough to operate all the machinery just fine, not quite at the level of immersion as those NASA graded force feedback steering wheels that probably cost more than a real used car, but with better precision than playing it just on a keyboard. You can find them for about 30 bucks all over the interwebs.
