They can't really open doors. That's a figure of speech. Chickens don't even know what doors are. The really smart ones might momentarily understand the function of a door, but they would simply flap their wings and throw themselves at it until they passed out, and when they woke up, they would forget that the door was there or what it was for. I don't mean to speak ill of chickens, but we're not all cut out to open doors. Some of us must be content to lay eggs.
