I can see that the ancient astronaut argument is having no effect. If we acknowledge that the Romans could travel back in time and make perilous ocean voyages with mysterious navigational instruments no one ever heard of, and if we look closely at some of the Olmec statue pictures, I don't see why we couldn't argue that the Romans invented Buddhism and sumo wrestling.
