its quite clear how carvings were considered sacred.
and many specific law was certainly applied to them
one of the highest being who is actually depicted on them, if you can perhaps now understand that a bit more clearly.
but realistically looking at the entire picture of the ancients and their old world. it doesnt take much effort to truly understand the entire nature of carvings and depections and specifically how they were regarded by man.
this i wish i could explain even a bit more better but unfortunately im not willing
