Subject: RE: I'm actually enjoying Skyrim

yeah so, i got an alienware x17 r2. its on sale now, so i bought one.
oh man, what a pile of shit this was.
absolute refusal to function with my TV as external display.
this pile of fucking broken intel shit. optimus is total ass. its so buggy and stupid. it operates like half ass broken software you can just feel how shitty it is. it was trying to blast my tv with 360hz refresh rate or something. my TV does only 60hz. whenever the nvidia gpu tries to do anything it would totally crash out. ive gone through all settings imaginable. you would not believe.
and to think, this expensive pile of fucking shit should be able to function with a nice TV or something but no.
pc hardware is such a scam.
oh and deargod, the tech support for dell is legendary. they just openly abuse customers, like this is official company policy. its maximum sadism. like tech support hell. and of course its also the purest form of india you can ever experience. like this is a national embassy.
of course i never expected tech support to resolve anything, but i still went through the channel just to initiate the return process. it was quite interesting to image the poor souls who would actually rely on them.

so anyway, whatever, since intel optimus was out of the question no matter what brand i purchase, it was time to look at the low end stuff. and im actually glad i did. this cheap tiny 550$ lenovo is rad. ryzen 5600U / 3050ti.
its a little beast. it pumps out 1080p like a champ, at full TGP, im quite satisfied with it.
the display is washed out garbage with 45% color gamut but its actually dooable in full contrast. the body is plastic garbage but its solid for the most part.
the internals are tops. the pcb is top quality and the cooling is darn nice. nice high quality blowers with solid bearings.
system performance is also fast and snappy. this thing doesnt seem to support nvme, only ahci but ssd latencies and access times are 0.001 fast. not sure what the heck is going on with the ahci thing. its super jank.
but seriously, for 550$ i just dont care. speakers are decent enough.
nice light powerful unit with gross costcutting all around. the ac adapter is also offensive. but it doesnt seem like its going to break. but it does mock you for being poor.

nice little system
