Borderlands 3....
So far this is the most pozzed sequel I've ever played, and yes, I've already tried the new Wolfenstein game.
The weird thing about this game is that all the jokes / humor that the series is built on is completely missing, and they spend most of the game either world-building a story that nobody cares about or apologizing for their series characters that are too offensive now. For example, one of the characters from first couple games is an extremely fat bitch they constantly make weight jokes about, but in the third game they call her "stocky", slim her weight down and tiptoe around all the weight comments.
The story has never been a strong point for this game. I find it hard to believe that anyone cares about backstories for any of the characters, most people playing the game just want loot + stupid crude humor. Since only the loot has remained, this is really only half of a Borderlands game. There still is some attempt at humor being made, but it's the same attempt you see when watching any Ryan Reynolds film. There's also some weird role reversal where all the female characters are the strong fighters/brawlers with the male characters more likely to be cowardly or need help. Are the majority of people playing Borderlands women now? I'm not sure who their target audience is.
On the plus side, you now auto-collect ammo/money which before was one of the most annoying things about the series. The other annoying thing is the weird blurry texture fill-in the engine does which is still there.
With the loot mechanic, this is basically like a paid version of any of the many F2P games out there, except you can play it in single player. It's surreal seeing what this series has turned into.
